The Pollomania tag league kicked off with four of the five teams in action. Starship Insanity of Mr. Crazy and Zargnax earned two points against the Canadian Embassy Misfits of Brutus Smith and Holly Guacamole and thwarted the attempt at revenge for what Zargnax inadvertently did to El Tigre de Jengibre at last season's finale. The biggest news coming out of the night's main event was what happened after Zargnax's ray gun was retrieved by Holly Guacamole, who then fired it at Mr. Crazy which sent him tumbling out of the ring. We did not discover until after the match what kind of effect this ray gunshot had as when Zargnax exited the ring to celebrate his win, he was immediately attacked by his own partner! Or so we thought! As Zargnax was being beaten down by Mr. Crazy, another Mr. Crazy saved Zargnax from the attack and quickly got himself and the Intergalactic Conqueror out of there. Charlotte O'Neal picked up the Scramble Championship off the floor which was long thought to have been disintegrated by Zargnax's ray gun last season and handed it to the other Mr. Crazy.
Mandarin tried his best to offer some kind of explanation in the heat of the moment:
He sent us an email this morning further elaborating on what might have happened:
In less confusing news, D.C. Wiland made a big bang in his first night with Pollomania as he not only bested the Owl Man in singles action but also helped the Adult Entertainment Xpress of Mr. Rottentreats and Douglas Divine earn two points in the Pollomania tag league by defeating Team HERO of the Marksman and Sentinel II. Douglas Divine found himself in trouble after attempting to low blow Sentinel II while AEX's manager Vaughn Ronie, Jr. had referee Smalltooth Jones distracted. Sentinel caught the kick and was about to impose justice on the Dark Carnival Delight when Wiland, disguised in a tracksuit and Donald Trump mask slid into the ring and ate Sentinel alive with a vicious Black Elegy lariat. Wiland took the mic and quickly confirmed that he has joined up with Ronie Rasslin' Services. Vaughn Ronie, Jr. may have had the most successful client debut night we may ever see.
Back to confusion, El Tigre de Jengibre interrupted the beginning of the show and declared his intention to use his golden opportunity earned at the Three Cup Chicken trios tournament last season to get around doctor's orders and defend his Supremo Championship as originally scheduled. He called out Grin and/or Woody, but of course neither one emerged. He then called out Super Pollo, but he was nowhere to be found either. El Vainillo interrupted him and accepted the challenge and much to everyone's surprise, El Tigre did not back down and instead a match began and ended within the span of ten seconds as El Tigre quickly small packaged Vainillo and retained his title. However, Mandarin knew something was amiss and it was later confirmed by Owl Man, who brought out a text message and picture from El Vainillo showing him telling Owl Man "maybe be late" and the accompanying picture of his car's tires having been slashed. Mandarin sent a stage hand to find any security footage he could of the El Vainillo that fought El Tigre and we will have the results of that search on February 10th.
El Proscrito thought he had the match in his hands after delivering the Gunshot to Raisin Branielson in the opening three way dance, but he was quickly thrown out of the ring and Tezcacoatl delivered his running package piledriver to steal the win!
Mandarin tried his best to offer some kind of explanation in the heat of the moment:
So uhm... from what I can gather about complicated alien technological advancements... Zargnax's ray gun in the hands of Holly Guacamole somehow unlocked another dimensional Mr. Crazy with the Scramble Championship. I guess?! I really have no idea here for once. I am sorry, humans! I offer nothing!
He sent us an email this morning further elaborating on what might have happened:
I surmised during the event that Zargnax's gun unlocked another dimensional Mr. Crazy, but having consulted some friends of mine back home... it would appear that the gun captured Mr. Crazy's image and unlocked a version of him from an alternate timeline that deviated sometime last season before his team with Zargnax was established. This would explain his willingness to attack him. This would also explain why he still has the Scramble Championship that was surely disintegrated last season.
