BIOGRAPHY / BACKGROUND (Secret)-
Guillermo Reyes III is the third in the line of Reyes to don the mask of El Temerario, The Daredevil.
Reyes’ grandfather, the first El Temerario, was one of the most popular Luchadores/entertainers in Mexico in his time, starring in movies, early telenovelas, and releasing several music albums. His life ended tragically in an automobile accident, and El Temerario I was buried in his mask.
Reyes’ father, the second El Temerario, began his career as El Hijo de El Temerario, because he felt he wasn't good enough to take on the El Temerario namesake. After several years as “The Son of The Daredevil,” Reyes was convinced by his mother to adopt the El Temerario persona. As he aged, Temerario actually grew stronger and more dominant in his area of the Lucha Libre world, but he also became more aggressive, even becoming a Rudo for a few years. Urban legend stated that Reyes had sold his soul in exchange for career longevity and success. Following a religious conversion, Reyes determined to become a technico again. During the match he was to become a technico in, Reyes suffered a spinal stroke in the ring, and lived bedridden and tormented until his death.
The El Temerario name lived in infamy and shame for years.
Guillermo Reyes III had not planned to carry on the family tradition, until his mother told him the true story of his father's plight. A devout Catholic, Reyes donned the mask and became El Temerario, vowing to bring honor and glory back to his heritage. He gained a great bit of success in Mexico, Japan, and The American Southwest early in his career, but began to falter after the death of the woman he loved. He slipped into relative professional anonymity before disappearing completely.
Following a religious pilgrimage, Reyes recreated El Temerario, completely changing the appearance of mask and ringwear, as well as adopting an even more high risk style, a style that has earned him the English nickname “The Lucha Daredevil.”
