Fans and media alike gathered at 11am EST/8am PST at the Pollo Bucket headquarters in San Diego, California for the promised announcement. Several key members of management from the Pollo Bucket restaurant chain were on hand including the seldom seen Black Pollo V, who was seated on stage next to his brother El Hijo de Pollo and cousin Super Pollo. The proceedings began with Pollo Bucket public relations representative Mackenzie Jennings as she thanked the crowd for coming before going on to say that this was big news in the expansion process of the Pollo Bucket brand.
She boasted the fact that Pollo Bucket has over 200 restaurants worldwide, which allowed company founders El Hijo de Pollo and Super Pollo to launch their own professional wrestling promotion appropriately named "Pollomania" in July of 2015. She highlighted that Pollomania's official YouTube channel which airs all of its events live via stream and uploads them immediately thereafter has almost reached one million subscribers. El Hijo de Pollo chimed in that he would hang the golden subscriber plaque over the urinals in the executive washroom. Jennings ignored this and went on to say that while Pollomania has been a fairly successful venture - a lot of critics and people in their key demographics claim the product is "too over the top" and cited multidimensional beings and a recent storyline where an unseen force under the ring is 'devouring' wrestlers by yanking them under the ring. She also cited a storyline where El Hijo de Pollo was kidnapped by a tribe of Bigfoots, which had all three Pollos exchange confused glances before El Hijo asked, "Storyline?".
Jennings continued by wondering aloud about the YouTube numbers. She said that if an over the top 'niche' product like Pollomania could pull in those kinds of numbers then what kind of numbers could a traditional product under their umbrella bring in? She smiled and stated they would soon find out as she unveiled a logo...

Jennings revealed that Pollo Bucket purchased a variety of assets and the Lion's Road Pro-Wrestling name was one of them. The original Lion's Road was formed when gaming company Typhoon Media purchased Pro-Wrestling Spirit in 2006 and transformed it into Lion's Road Pro-Wrestling - a product that specialized in American strong style. Under Typhoon's ownership, the promotion enjoyed a large degree of success until financial and general mismanagement lead it into a sharp decline and eventual closure in mid 2007. Jennings firmly added that the name would be the only connection shared between these two groups as Pollo Bucket only purchased the name and not any of the history or tape library or championships.
A member of the media asked what this meant for Pollomania which prompted Super Pollo to step up to the podium. The president of Pollomania explained that nothing further would change with Pollomania, as it had already made a change by adding the Pollo Estrel show in place of a second monthly event which was a move designed to accommodate Lion's Road into the touring schedule. He surmised that the two promotions would work closely together and that you might even see a Pollomania championship defended on a Lion's Road event.
Mackenzie Jennings then introduced Bastian Krull and Mandeville Nelson as the promotion's commentary team. Jake Aarons joined them on stage after being introduced as the promotion's new ring announcer. Aarons and Nelson shared a particularly warm handshake as though they had met previously.
Finally, a media member asked who would be the figurehead in Lion's Road which Jennings quickly addressed by saying that they would be revealed in the next few days in a press release. She closed out the press conference by announcing May 19th as the promotion's debut and noted they would have news of the talent appearing in the aforementioned press release.
