A series of clips depicting the world’s greatest catastrophes is rapidly shown on the screen. World War 2, Vietnam War, Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Terrorist Attacks, Bombings, etc all are shown in one way or the other in this series of clips. Then static….
So it has come to this… a final showdown between the forces of evil and the forces of good. Siths and Jedis, Buenos y Malos, Héroes y Villanos… the continuous narrative of society. The hard part is choosing a side…
A man wearing a hood appears on the screen as he continues speaking.
“Morality binds people into groups. It gives us tribalism; it gives us genocide, war, and politics. But it also gives us heroism, altruism, and sainthood.” Or so said Jonathan Haidt, and I agree… to me, the world’s narrative is nothing more than US choosing a side depending on OUR beliefs and OUR moral code.
For some, that moral code leads to do ‘good’ towards society… for others it leads to ‘damage’ it. Either way, it’s rare you find someone who truly believes they’re a Villano… not even Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin or the likes… think they’re doing bad to the world… so why should we put a label besides their names?
Wouldn’t our comic book héroes be considered terrorist by the destruction they bring while ‘saving’ the world. Wouldn’t our soldiers be consider terrorist by those living in the countries they’re fighting in?
My friends, life is just a matter of seeing the world thru a cristal… you decide which cristal suits you and your beliefs.
For me, that belief is standing beside my friend in Pollomanía…
The man takes off the hood showing the mask that covers his face. It’s obviously Huracán Rojo’s mask, but it has some changes in it, instead of the trademark red, it’s now black and white.
There’s a reason life puts people in your life, there’s a reason you trust the people you trust… and that’s precisely what makes those people EVERYDAY HEROES.
An act of heroism does not need to be something that impacts the whole world, it could impact a small group of people and still make you a hero.
So at ‘So it’s come to this’… we have the cliché… the movie as some point out… but to me… is just another chapter in the moving history of our world. One more time there’s a battle between moral codes and we’ve chosen to stand ground by those who we believe in.
If we’re right or wrong… that’s not for us to decide… what is, however…
Is how we impact the pollomaniacs everywhere. That my friends, is what I’m here for. Vainillo, I said I had your back… so here I am…
Now, Misfits… let’s see whose will and morals are stronger inside the Pollo Playhouse…
A storm is coming… and you aren’t expecting it, vatos…
After that Rojo gets on one of his knees, puts his figers in his throat and spits red mist to the air.
