Canada’s ambassador to Mexico was busy reviewing paperwork at his desk when a knock at the door caught his attention.
“About fricking time. Enter!”
Charlotte O’Neal and Brutus Smith quickly enter and sit down in the chairs provided.
“Ms. O’Neal, Agent Smith, I’m very disappointed in you two! Your team lost yet again and now you’re entering into Pollomania’s season finale, ‘So It’s Come To This, without a victory since El Tigre de Jengibre won the Supremo Champion.”
“Oh shut up,” Charlotte growled.
“Excuse me!”
“I am Brute?”
Charlotte took off her glasses and put them in her purse and loosened her hair. She looked at both of them with contempt.
“You heard me. Shut the fuck up!”
“Ms O’Neal, I…”
“No, I’m tired of walking around on egg shells around you. Perhaps you’ve been too busy to have noticed but I’ve been busy guiding your son’s career outside of Pollomania, where he’s managed to win more championship. People are starting to talk about him; companies are begging us to join them and using the phrase ‘we have big plans for you’ a lot. So let me ask you something: why should I sit here and be berated by you?”
She stands up and puts her hands on the ambassador’s desk.
“What have you done to help any of us out?”
Brute stands and picks Charlotte up by the waist and less than gently makes her sits her back down in her hair. He reaches into her purse and places her glasses back on.
“I am Brute,” he admonishes, getting right in her face.
“No, Agent Smith, while I don’t appreciate her language, I must agree with Ms. O’Neal. It’s been unfair for me to put such pressure on the lot of you. After all, while I’m a very powerful man, I have no real jurisdiction in Pollomania to do anything… not yet any way.”
“What exactly does that mean,” Charlotte asks.
“Oh don’t mind me, I’m just rambling again. Agent Smith, please see Ms. O’Neal to the door, I would like to have a discussion with you alone.”
Charlotte tries to protest but Brute lift her up, chair and all, and carries her to the door. Shrugging, he gently pushes the chair, with her still on it, out the door and shuts it. He then walks back to the desk and sits down.
“Agent Brute, it’s clear we will have to step up our plans to take over Pollomania. As much as I have faith in the team my son has assembles, especially after how you got rid of that pathetic duo of Woody and Grin, I need to make sure your team wins this time.”
The ambassador stands from his chair and for the first time we see his sandy blonde hair from behind.
“It’s time to put ‘Plan Maple Syrup Delta’ into operation. Do you understand?”
Brute cracks his knuckles and nods.
“Yes sir, I understand.”
